Behind The Reef ATV Trail

Temple Mountain and "Behind the Reef" are one of the most beautiful areas in the San Rafael Swell. Temple Mountain was an active area during the uranium mining boom so there are many old mining roads in and past this area. Temple Mountain itself is the highest point in the San Rafael Reef. There is so much to explore in this isolated and beautiful area!

Eva Conover Road

This ride is a great way to see the San Rafael Swell and takes you through some amazing country!  When they went to build I-70 in the 1960's they needed a way to get equipment into some of the canyons to build the massive bridges. Eva Conover, County Commissioner, pushed for a road to be cut through and succeeded.   The road has since been challenged and tried to be closed down, but because they had written approval the road was proven to be existing and is still accessible.

Reeder Canyon Loop

The Reeder Canyon Loop is a great ride among the pines and quakies of the Manta La Sal Mountains.  Covering a pretty big elevation change, you start and end on the shores of Joe's Valley Reservoir, with plenty of access to camping and fishing. This ride ranges from beginner to moderate as there are plenty of ups and downs, but no section of this ride is boring. This is a great half-day ride.
